Forgiveness, Joy, and Positivity

Wow! Today is March 1, 2025! I’ve been reading a book by Bob Goff entitled Undistracted. It was published by Nelson Books, Nashville, TN, and copyrighted by Bob Goff in 2022. I’ve been so busy. I told my son I’ve been too distracted to read it. 😊

But not lately. I’m determined to keep at it. He said the average number of days people live is 27,375 and encourages us to do the math for where we’re at. How are we living our lives that God gave us?

He asks if we’re drifting through life, or have we set a course? So, last night as I dreamt, I found myself waking up and praying for a family that definitely seeks ways to honor Jesus and evangelize, so people will have the opportunity to come to Christ.

My husband’s testimony is that at the age of 10, a religious ed. teacher, Miss Marianne, told the students about heaven and hell. She said they could choose where they would spend eternity, with God or without Him. My spouse thought back then, Who would want to go to hell when they die?

So, he decided to ask Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. He tells people today that he wasn’t perfect after that, but when he was about to make a bad choice, he sensed there was a better way to go. “Choosing Jesus saved me a lot of trouble.”

When I met him, I had asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior for at least a year. So, I asked him if he was a Christian. He said, “Yes.”

I was more comfortable with him than any guy I ever met. In August, we’ll be married for 50 years, so that question was an important start. We committed to love God and serve Him. We committed to stay married and yet let the other leave if they ever wanted to go.

I think I’ll count how many days I’ve been alive and subtract them from the average amount and set some goals for my future. The Bible says people live 70 years and if they have strength, 80 years. Of course, that’s an average.

In the book of Philippians, it says to rejoice in the Lord always. In (Philippians 4:8, NKJV): “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Jesus said, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand!” as written in (Matthew 3:2, NKJV).

I think forgiveness, joy, and positivity may add days and years to our lives. What do you think?

May God bless you as you go forward.
